Welcoming a New Chapter in Baja Diving Events & PADI Workshops
There are certain moments as dive operators when everything aligns—the right instructor, the right place, and the right group of divers ready to grow. This September, we are honored to welcome Chris Nonell to DiversInnMX for a very special PADI Underwater Photography Workshop here in La Paz, Baja California Sur.
This course is part of our expanding Baja Diving Events & PADI Workshops series for 2026–2027, and it represents exactly the kind of experience we love to host: small, intentional, skill-focused, and rooted in the extraordinary waters of the Sea of Cortez.
Why Baja California Sur?
There is a reason divers return here again and again.
Jacques Cousteau famously called the Sea of Cortez “The Aquarium of the World.” And when you slip beneath the surface in Baja Sur, you understand why. Vast schools of fish move like living currents. Sea lions dart and spin in shafts of light. Reefs pulse with color and life. The visibility, the marine diversity, and the ever-changing conditions create an ideal environment for photographers to refine both technical skill and creative instinct.
For underwater image-makers, Baja is a classroom unlike any other.
Why This Workshop Matters to Us
At DiversInnMX, we’ve always believed diving should be personal. No crowds. No rush. Just intentional days built around learning, exploration, and connection to the sea.
When we connected with Chris, we knew his approach fit perfectly with our philosophy. His experience photographing in diverse conditions around the world, his work supporting marine research, and his ability to translate technical precision into clear, practical teaching—this is exactly the level of instruction we want to offer our guests.
This isn’t just a dive trip with a camera in hand. It’s a structured four-day immersion in buoyancy control, composition, lighting, storytelling, and editing—culminating in a PADI Underwater Photographer Certification. Each day balances classroom learning, in-water application, and evening critique sessions where divers refine their eye and strengthen their confidence.
And because we intentionally limit this workshop to a maximum of eight divers, every participant receives meaningful, hands-on guidance.
