Sea of Cortez Diving at DiversInnMX

I slipped into the water the other morning and just kind of paused for a second.

You know that moment—right when you’re about to adjust your mask or check your gear—and instead you just hang there because something feels… different?

That was this.

It’s warm.

Not summer-warm yet, but definitely not what we usually feel this early in the season. It’s that perfect in-between where you’re comfortable right away, your breathing settles faster, and you realize you’re not thinking about the temperature at all anymore.

You’re just there.

And I have to tell you—we’re seeing it across every dive right now.

April Is Usually a Secret

April has always been one of those months we quietly love.

It’s not loud yet. Not crowded. Not rushed.

The water starts waking up, the light gets clearer, the animals feel more curious. You get these beautiful, calm dives where everything just flows.

Mobulas start showing up.
Sea lions are in a playful mood.
And the visibility can be stunning.

But this year, it feels like April showed up early… and people are catching on.

We’re Seeing It in the Bookings

Normally, this time of year is steady.

Right now? It’s busy in a really exciting way.

We’re getting messages from people who’ve been hearing about La Paz—about the Sea of Cortez—and they’re ready to come see it for themselves. And once they look into it, they realize this isn’t one of those packed, cattle-call dive destinations.

This place is different.

And how you experience it matters.

What Makes This Feel Different

At DiversInnMX, we’ve never tried to be the biggest.

We keep things small on purpose—two to eight guests, and honestly, a lot of the time it’s even fewer than that.

That changes everything.

You’re not lining up for your turn.
You’re not on someone else’s schedule.
You’re not being rushed in or out of the water.

You wake up, have a great breakfast, talk through the day, and then we go dive based on what the ocean is giving us—not what a clock says.

Our boats are comfortable, our captains and guides know this water like it’s home (because it is), and when you come back… you actually get to relax.

Good food. Quiet space. Time to just be here.

Right Now Is Kind of Perfect

I know everyone thinks about summer—and yes, summer here is incredible.

But there’s something about right now that feels really special.

The water is warming earlier than usual.
The marine life is starting to move.
And there’s still this sense of space—like you haven’t missed it yet.

We’re heading into a very full season, that much is clear.

But if you’re someone who loves that feeling of discovering a place before it gets busy… this is your window.

If you’ve been thinking about La Paz, or you’ve heard people talk about the Sea of Cortez and wondered if it lives up to it…

It does.

And right now, it’s just getting started.
